African Biosciences Workshop Series: June - July 2016

African Biosciences first workshop series ended last week. It was well attended by participants that range from research students, lecturers, deans and professors. The genomics part of the workshop was oversubscribed with excellent feedback from participants.

The Bioinformatics module includes studies in: NCBI database, sequence alignment, phylogenetics inference,  genetic diversity and structure prediction. And the Genomics module includes studies in: genome architecture, PCR design and analysis, genome sequencing, DNA amplification, genome variability, genome mapping and PCR & RFLP data analysis. Both tracks were intensive and hands-on with over 25hrs contact time that span 5 days each.
